Nevermore Necklace and Skull Cameo! New!

Hooray for new stuff, aye? Well, these have been in the making for a while and have finally materialized.

The first I am so psyched to finally list! I've started a small series of necklaces centered around a Poe theme. I'm using the word 'Nevermore' from his narrative The Raven and have used various vintage and modern elements to fashion it into a charming necklace.

The Listing!

Check out the above link to see it in better detail. I'm pretty pleased with it and really excited to finish the others I have in the studio.

The next started out as an experiment and it didn't quite turn out the way I would have wanted it to, but it's charming in its own way. A handmade skull cameo choker!

The Listing!

I feel like the quality of my pictures is actually getting worse XD But after an afternoon of trying again and again, I eventually just had to settle.

And so, yes, there they are! More items will be added this week as well so keep coming on back.

Anita Blake by blacklilypie

Any Anita Blake fans out there?

For fans of Laurell K. Hamilton's "Anita Blake Vampire Hunter" Series. This bookmark has a little blood splattered Anita cheerfully dispatching some sort of terrible beastie. See my shop for more photos. A little blood splatter does a girl good!

Review: Trade - Pt2! DreadFulDesigns.Etsy.con & ArtistaMuerta.Etsy.com

I traded a 5 piece skulls and bones magnet set with ArtistaMuerta for one of her glass flaming heart necklaces in dark purple.

(Read ArtistaMuerta's thoughts on the trade HERE)

Communicating with ArtistaMuerta was wonderful, she's so nice! The packaging was so cool! It was very professional and pretty at the same time and made mine look really shoddy in comparison XD Shipping prices were about the same so all around a pretty even trade.
I'm so happy I did this trade, I'm wearing it now actually and I frigging love it!
Even my cat liked it.

Beads and Dead Things

Edgar Allan Poe, Tobias, and Emma pins.

New stuff at Perfidious Beadworks. I haven't really been in a beading mood this month, it's been too damned cold to chase beads around with a tiny needle. These three pins have been sitting in my embroidery hoop for weeks. All I needed to do was cut them off and finish up the backs. Feh. I need to get ahold of more large faceted Victorian beads but I've thus far been too lazy to scour my favorite vintage clothes shop's scrap bin. I love the scrap bin. But cold & lazy wins out over love, I suppose.

Casketmaker's Studio and Undertaker's Demonstration.

Two more miniature wood-framed photographs, both nicely morbid Victorian-era images, the undertaker's pic being from an embalming manual. This time I managed to not hack my left thumbnail in two like I did with the last batch of frames.

New cabinet for haunted dollhouse

If you have not begun to decorate your dollhouse, or even if you did, this cabinet would be a wicked addition to any room!
Made out of wood and painted black, it encloses a lot of dark items: a Ouija board, a gazing crystal ball, scrolls of parchments, books and potion ingredients.
It will look fantastic in a wizard or witch house, alchemy laboratory, old castle or haunted dollhouse. Grab it before it's gone at Kaleidoskopic Romance!
And if this is not enough for you, take a look to our miniatures section to find more dark and unusual objects...

AMPUTHEATRE figures at Chenille Macabre!

Okay, this is that big crazy thing I was warning everyone about, and here it is:

To those of you not in the know, I created and patented a gory board game called AMPUTHEATRE (my website's down- don't remind me.) It uses horror figures with removable limbs and heads and drenches its playfield in blood and guts and fire. It's received a patent and it's got a cult following around here in upstate New York throughout horror and game conventions both.

But I'm sick of trying to contact plastics companies and freaking out about productions costs. So I'll do it the nutso way: These eight figures- Malice, Gnash, Jinglebunny, the Jack of Clubs, Ashezz, Nine Lives, Mr. Eyeball Plucker, and Mandibula- are the first wave of AMPUTHEATRE figures currently for sale at the Chenille Macabre Etsy store.

Each one is custom-made by me, has removable limbs and a head, and will come with their Slasher Sheets, Bloodcounts, and game markers. I am asking between $25-40 for the figures, inherent upon the effort required to make them. To make them affordable, the figures have been scaled down to 3" in height, and they play on a 6 x 8 square grid, with spaces measuring 2.25" square (in case you wanted to get started on making a board...)

I always said I'd never do this, because it would be nothing sort of in-motherporking-sane and I'd never meet demand. And yet, there's something liberating about doing these all by myself... no compromises on their appearances, no ungodly costs towards plastic production, able to change their costumes if I like... yeah. This should be fun.

The rulebook is coming soon. Honest. It's packing art from Chris Pallace and Kevin Serwacki, so I want it as bad as you do. But I wanted to get the figures up today- Friday the 13th- in preparation for the possible Wikipedia article about this game.

This is the first wave. Next up are Lycosus, Crucifiend, Trigger Treat and the Thicket. I'll have them up soon. I want to see how well these guys do.

Wish me luck, okay...?

Review: Trade - DreadfulDesigns.Etsy.com & ArtistaMuerta.Etsy.com

I did a trade with Megan of DreadfulDesigns for some super cute magnets!

They are adorable and are attached to some very strong magnets for how small they are, and DreadfulDesigns is just as nice as pie. It was an even trade for a necklace from my shop.

The shipping was quick, the magnets came in a cute little box with a bow on the top. DreadfulDesigns is super nice and I'm very pleased with the whole thing! I hope she does more designs, because I think they're great!

Review: HandmadeHorrors.Etsy.com

I purchased 24 Hand Made Ribbon Roses, 12 in Jet Black & 12 in Cream (Satin).

(Like my Faux Linx Footstool? I upholstered it myself! ;D)

This was a custom order and I am very pleased with how they came out. I received the items in about 3 days after I paid for them. Shipping was incredibly fast! The packaging was great, my roses came in a cute Halloween theme cellophane bag with a note from HandmadeHorrors herself. And even though the Ribbon Roses are very durable on their own the shipping packaging was great too & quite sturdy. I even received a few extras in the form of promo items from other Dark Siders.

HandmadeHorrors was great with communicating the absolutely reasonable pricing options and the progress of the order. The Ribbon Roses were exactly as she pictured so I was not disappointed. I am sure I will be back for more roses when this batch is gone!

New Funeral Stuff At Perfidious Beadworks

Miniature framed funeral photographs at Perfidious Beadworks. Most are 5 1/2" x 4 1/2". Three finished so far, but more to come!

The guy in the coffin is a reproduction of a vintage photograph that hangs over my bed. He looks pretty peaceful lying there taking a snooze.

This cute little coffin is from a set of large vintage cards from a casket manufacturer for the use of funeral homes. I have three other styles but haven't built the frames for them yet.

New at Chenille Macabre!

New miniatures from Chenille Macabre have arrived! Behold the horrors of the Dollface Psycho, the Lizardman, and the Pigmask Killer! All poseable, all evil!

This Friday the 13th, I have something very big and exciting planned. It's been the culmination of a lot of hard work, and I'm going to unleash it. I might not even be ready for that date. I just want to start then because it'd look good for my Wikipedia entry. ;P

See you then!

Review: Trade - MrsEvils.Etsy.com & AgonysDecay.Etsy.com

I just recently completed a wonderful trade with AgonysDecay. I received 30 brain soapies & seahorse cameo

In exchange I got make her a Custom Carrie My Pretty Zombie Doll!

The communication between us was fabulous! We started talking about the trade in Oct and wrote back and forth until Dec when we were finished. I had so much fun plotting out her zombie and discussing all the tiny details!

We live in the same state so we both got our packages fairly quickly. And talk about great packaging from AgonysDecay! I needed the soaps for my co-workers xmas gift bags and they all came individually packaged.

Not only do I love my cameo and soaps, but I loved making Carrie! I was very happy with how she turned out even though I spent weeks yelling at her "why won't you dry already!" Plus I met a super sweet lady! I think this was a pretty fair and amazing trade.

Zombie Flowers Tote Bag

This is a standard size medium tote bag. It has a sewn on large-ish patch of a Japanese fan print on flannel, with zombie flowers embroidered on it. Satin stitching forever! So kawaii!
